10 YEARS AGO: The annual Master Gardener plant swap/sale will be held at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Neillsville. The event is free and open to the public.

The Marshfield Christian Women's Club will meet at Belvedere Supper Club. Guest speakers will be Kara Theune, sales representative with PartyLite, and Nancy Brydges of White Bear Lake, Minn.

25 YEARS AGO: The American Legion Auxiliary recently sponsored its annual dinner for gold star mothers and World War I wives. Fleetable Tippelt was hostess, and birthdays honorees were Dorothy Drew, Lavonne Reigel, Carol Beck and Lydia Bennette.

50 YEARS AGO: E.L. Pemberton, food service director at Saint Joseph's Hospital since December 1961, has resigned the position. The Pembertons and their four children, Paul, Gordon, David and Jane, will move to Stevens Point after school closes for the summer.

75 YEARS AGO: Four-hundred-seventy-five mothers and daughters were served at the annual Mothers Day Breakfast sponsored by the Altar Society of St. John's Catholic. Mrs. Anna Haertle, 91, the oldest mother present, was given a basket of roses.
