Prison ordered in Fond du Lac murder-for-hire case (story, video)

A 62-year-old Ripon man will spend 16 1/2 years in prison for hiring an undercover hitman to murder and injure his former business partners.

Lee Stellmacher appeared May 10 in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court dressed in prison garb beside defense attorney Robin Shellow of Milwaukee. Stellmacher's $1 million bond, which was posted in June 2012, was revoked after he was found guilty by a jury in February.
