Press-Gazette Media will honor some of Northeastern Wisconsinís top high school seniors beginning Monday.

The students are members of the 25th annual Press-Gazette Media Academic Team, an elite group of seniors who excel in the classroom, in extracurricular activities and in community involvement.

The Press-Gazette will feature each of this yearís 10 Academic Team members beginning Monday and published weekdays through May 24. Each member also will be featured in a video at greenbaypressgazette.com and all will also be honored at a reception Monday night at the Hyatt on Main in Green Bay.

Academic Team members are chosen through a blind judging process in which a panel of five Press-Gazette Media employees and five community judges evaluate nearly 30 applications from high schools throughout Northeastern Wisconsin.

Each high school can nominate one student for the honor, and the nominees are evaluated in academics, after-school activities and community involvement, a student essay and a recommendation letter. The top 10 scoring students earn a spot on the Academic Team.

The 2013 winners are:

Erin Huffer, Green Bay Southwest High School

Jacob Wiese, Algoma High School

Mark Cullen, Notre Dame Academy

Sara DePouw, Oconto High School

Jordan Stiede, Pulaski High School

Sarah Meiners, West De Pere High School

Sonya Loberger, Green Bay West High School

Jordan Lewandowski, Shawano High School

Erika Jensen, Bay Port High School

Amanda Hermans, Green Bay Preble High School
