Fair restructuring debt to pay off credit line

An initial $30,000 line of credit secured by the Central Wisconsin State Fair Association Board in 2006 has ballooned into a $178,718 debt.

Unanticipated expenses and two years of poor weather during the annual fair contributed to the need for additional borrowing on the line of credit with Forward Financial Bank, said Gary Bymers, CWSFA board president.

The borrowing started when the fair association learned it would need $30,000 to install an emergency lighting system in the soon to be completed Jer-Lang Show Palace, Bymers said. The show facility was built with private donations. ...
