Favorite sports memory:
My favorite high school sport memory was during my junior year of track. We barely made it through sectionals in the 4 x 800 meter relay. Thanks to our anchor runner for passing one guy in the last 200 meters to place us in the top four so we could qualify for state competition. At the state track meet in La Crosse, we were projected to take 10th place. I along with my fellow teammates, ran the best we had ever done in our track careers. At the state meet, we ended up taking home the gold medal. Who would have figured the underdogs could bring home the gold? I never felt so great in my life!
Advice to an athlete:
Always work your hardest whether it is during practice, a game or state competition. Have total respect for your coaches and teammates. Believe in yourself. Commit fully and know you are doing everything to be the best!
My dad has always been my inspiration during all of my sports. He pumps me up before games. My dad encourages me to always work hard and to do my best. He always tells me that I can do anything if I put my mind to it. He supports me if I am down. My dad is at all of my games cheering and supporting me as well as the rest of the team. I do not know where I would be today without him!
