An Oshkosh man was injured Tuesday morning when he crashed his motorcycle in an attempt to avoid a collision with another vehicle.

The 54-year-old Lanoa man was traveling north on Jackson Street at 7:44 a.m. when a vehicle on Sharratt Drive pulled out in front of him, said Joe Nichols, spokesman for the Oshkosh Police Department.

The man tried to avoid colliding with the vehicle, but lost control and crashed. There was no contact between the motorcycle and the other vehicle, which was driven by a 35-year-old Oshkosh woman.

The motorcyclist was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment of a possible broken leg, Nichols said.

The woman was cited for failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
