Authorities request charges as part of local burglary investigation

The Portage County Sheriff's Department has requested burglary and theft charges against two Wisconsin Rapids men and two Plover men after conducting a joint two-month burglary investigation with multiple law enforcement agencies, authorities said Tuesday.

David A. McCracken, 41, Wisconsin Rapids, Henry A. Zielinski, 38, Plover, and Dean P. Shibilski, 42, Plover, are in custody, according to a news release from the Portage County Sheriff's Department. Dustin A. Yetter, 27, Wisconsin Rapids, will be required to appear in court at a later time.

The investigation, which also involved the Adams County Sheriff's Department and the Rome, Plover, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids police departments and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Laboratory, resolved several burglaries in the Portage County towns of Sharon, Grant, Stockton and Plover and the Adams County town of Rome, which involved property valued at more than $36,000, according to the news release.

Authorities executed numerous search warrants as part of the investigation, according to the news release.
