'No-brainer' switch to WEA Trust saves district nearly $500,000 for 2013-14, officials say

After about five years with Security Health Plan, the Wisconsin Rapids School District will return to WEA Trust as its employee health insurance provider in a move district leaders say will save taxpayers nearly $500,000 from the Security proposal.

Even with the change, premiums will increase nearly 10 percent for 2013-14, but that's about 5 percent less than the proposed increase under Security Health, said Ryan Christianson, the district's human resources director.
