School District to mull proposed use for Pitsch Elementary building

Plan to partner with Boys & Girls Club to use closed school site still in preliminary stages

Leaders of the Wisconsin Rapids School District and a local nonprofit organization hope to work together to find a new use for the district's former Pitsch Elementary School building.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area would like to move from its current facility at 1912 Baker Drive to the former elementary school and approached district leaders earlier this year about the possibility of leasing the building, said Robert Wefel, the agency's executive director.
