Christy's Race set for May 26

Registration is being taken for the 31st annual Christy's Race, which will be held Sunday, May 26, during Celebrate De Pere.

The 4-mile run and walk will start at 9 a.m. at Voyageur Park and finish behind Bank Mutual in downtown De Pere. Day-of registration will begin at 7:45 a.m.

Entry fees before Tuesday, May 21, are $17 per person and $45 per household. Fees for late and race-day registration are $20 per person and $55 per household.

All participants will receive a T-shirt. All runners will be entered in a random drawing for prizes that will be raffled off after the race and during the awards ceremony, which will start at 10:30 a.m. behind Bank Mutual.

Adult kickball league starts June 2

Registration is being taken for a coed adult summer kickball league that will be held in De Pere on Sunday nights at VFW Park, starting June 2.

The team fee is $105. Player fees are $16 for city of De Pere residents and $35 for non-residents.

Registration will close at 4:30 p.m., Friday, May 24.

Green Bay triathlon events June 1-2

Midwest Sports Events of De Pere will hold the Green Bay Youth Triathlon on Saturday, June 1, and the Aurora BayCare Green Bay Triathlon on Sunday, June 2.

Both events will be at Ashwaubomay Park, 2870 S. Broadway, Ashwaubenon.

The Green Bay Youth Triathlon will start at 7:30 a.m.

The Green Bay Triathlon will start at 7 a.m. Two different events will be held - a Sprint Triathlon featuring a 400-yard swim, a 15-mile bike ride and a 3.1-mile run and an Olympic Triathlon featuring an 800-yard swim, a 28-mile bike ride and a 6.2-mile run.

Driving school offered at 141 Speedway

141 Speedway in Francis Creek is hosting an Open Wheel Driving School this year for anyone who would like to experience the thrill of driving a winged sprint car.

The first of five scheduled sessions will be Monday, May 20.

Sippel Racin' of Elkhart Lake is providing the instruction as well as the helmets, drivers' suits and more.

Cost is $400 per person, which includes 1 hours of classroom instruction and three seven-lap sessions on the 141 Speedway track.

Other driving school dates are June 17, Aug. 12, Sept. 16 and Oct. 14.
