At the beginning of the 2013 high school track and field season, De Pere head coach James Boyd knew his girls team had the potential to be a top contender in the area.

What he didn't know was whether the Redbirds would be able to live up to that potential.

Now, with just a few weeks left in the season, Boyd has found out, along with everyone else, that the Redbirds are a squad with which to be reckoned. They have posted victories at some recent high-profile meets, including winning the Fox River Classic Conference East Division Meet last week over longtime rival Green Bay Preble. ...
