EDITOR: I am not in state Rep. Mandy Wright's voting district, but I want to highly commend her for doing an excellent job of keeping people informed. Her newsletter could certainly give other politicians a lesson on how to keep their constituents aware of what is happening in Madison and their district.

Wright's latest update informed people about the proposed expansion of the school voucher program, reform legislation on redistricting and tax-increment financing district legislation for the Wausau riverfront area. She explains her reasoning and tells you how to stay informed on the progress of current bills.

Wright also shares information on local events and opportunities people might be interested in, such as an agriculture bus tour, a new Ice Age Trail segment opening and where to get help when starting up a new small business. I suggest people might be interested in seeing how a local representative can effectively communicate with constituents.

Let's hope other representatives learn a lesson or two from Wright. Email her at Rep.Wright@legis.wi.gov.

Joyce Schneider,

Wausau
