Fox Theatre revamp still in works

Nonprofit committee continues to brainstorm revitalization

Downtown Stevens Point might seem different to anyone passing by the old Fox Theatre in the 1100 block of Main Street.

The west wing currently is hosting the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Art Show through tonight. The two-week art show is in an area of downtown that was previously retail space, and is the biggest change the Fox Theatre has seen since the Portage County Arts Alliance became the building's owner in February.

The alliance created the Fox Theatre LLC nonprofit committee to handle the revitalization of the former opera house that has been closed for decades. ...
