To have any shot at a share of the Wisconsin Valley Conference title, the D.C. Everest girls soccer team had to knock off Stevens Point Area Senior High.

Gretchen Murphy made sure it happened.

The Evergreens' junior forward headed the ball past SPASH keeper Sarah Peplinski at 44 minutes, 22 seconds of the second half as Everest squeaked out a 2-1 decision May 14 at Scaffidi Field to pull even in the league standings. ...
