It's a waiting game for NFL hopeful Bscherer

Jake Bscherer's hopes of making it in the National Football League are at a standstill.

Bscherer, a 6-foot-6, 318-pound offensive lineman who played three seasons at the University of Wisconsin and one year at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, said he was not offered a free-agent contract after attending rookie orientation camps with the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks.

"Minnesota said we're not interested in signing you now, but you're one of the top guys on our list and if somebody goes down we'll give you a call," said Bscherer, a former Sturgeon Bay High School standout. ...
