A drawing of a crying girl by a Marshfield High School senior will represent Wisconsin's Seventh Congressional District in Washington, D.C., for the 32nd annual Congressional Art Competition.

Artist Gabrielle Swanson, 18, will be eligible for scholarships and receive airfare for a trip to Washington, where her piece will hang in the U.S. Capitol for a year. Swanson's drawing was selected Saturday as the winner from 64 pieces created by teens from the district. The Seventh Congressional District angles from central Wisconsin to across the northeast area of the state.
