Nearly six months after Nicole Felice Jahns checked into a Minnesota hospital, she finally got the greatest gift for Mother's Day - a new set of lungs.
The former Wisconsin Rapids resident underwent double lung transplant surgery May 4, about a week before Mother's Day, after being in the intensive care or isolation units of a Rochester, Minn., hospital since Nov. 7, her mother said.
