The trees along the Lake Winnebago shore at High Cliff State Park were dripping with migrating warblers this week as the peak of spring migration passed through in waves.

Warblers are among the smallest and most colorful songbirds in North America, with nearly 30 species possible to see in our state alone. Brightly colored and full of sprite, warblers have also been called the "butterfly birds" due to their flamboyant colors and quick, sporadic bursts of flight.
