A woman who was raped outside an Appleton elementary school in 1989 filed a civil lawsuit last week against the man who was convicted of the gunpoint attack 23 years after it occurred.
The woman brought the lawsuit in Outagamie County Court and is asking for an unspecified monetary award from Roman A. Zareczny. The case stems from her Nov. 6, 1989, sexual assault outside Appleton's Lincoln Elementary School. She was 11 years old at the time.
