Letters: President Barack Obama's promises are shallow

3:58 PM, May 20, 2013  |  Comments

I thought we'd heard everything regarding President Barack Obama's promises. Obamacare: The cost of health insurance will decrease. Instead, annual premiums are higher and Democrats call it a train wreck.

Doctors: If you like your doctor, you can keep him or her. Instead, doctors are retiring in droves and a shortage is coming. Plus, Obamacare taxes are huge and growing. Exemptions: The same legislators who rammed Obamacare down our throats are pushing to exempt themselves and their staffs.

America's economy: Recovery was promised in 2010, 2011 and 2012, yet it's still not here. The unemployment rate is lower because fewer people are looking for work. Those who previously worked now get enough to relax with government food stamps, disability pay, unemployment benefits, even free cell phones, which cost us billions.

And don't forget Obama's other commitments. North Korea: Don't fire your missiles (in 2009) or severe consequences will result. They fired and Obama did nothing. Syria: Don't cross our red line. It appears they did, yet nothing was done.

Benghazi: Ambassador Christopher Stevens' murderer will be brought to justice. Eight months later, there's still no action. A congressional review uncovered abundant proof the government lied and Hillary Clinton's credibility is questioned.

In 2001, Democrats claimed President George W. Bush failed to connect the dots. In 2013, Obama's administration failed to coordinate major defense agencies in Boston. The IRS admits to targeting Tea Party groups and Democrats claim it was unintended. America's international policies are frustrating and defeatist. Homeland security appears even worse. Obama promises transparency, but allows security and honesty lapses to continue. He is not only an empty suit. He bluffs his way through everything. And the media supports his bluffs by avoiding accurate reporting of the facts.

Who knows what's next? No wonder Americans are depressed and becoming nauseous.
