With an apology from Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt, the City Council has approved a downtown building purchase that went undisclosed to the public until hours earlier.
The City Council agreed Tuesday to spend $275,000 acquiring the former Schauer & Schumacher furniture store buildings at the corner of East Walnut and North Adams streets. The city intends to give the buildings to a developer who will try to rehabilitate them.
