Prison ordered in drunken driving fatality

An Oshkosh man who caused a drunken driving crash that killed an Omro man last year will spend six years in prison.

Winnebago County Circuit Court Judge Daniel Bissett sentenced Jeremy J. Derks, 33, to six years in prison followed by seven years of extended supervision Monday for his role in a drunken driving crash that killed Richard J. Bielinski, 84. He must also perform 50 hours of community service by speaking to groups about drinking and driving.

Derks was convicted of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle in connection to a May 21, 2012. ...
