Ministry Health Care announces workforce cuts

Health care organization cites decline in patients, sequestration

Ministry Health Care plans to lay off hundreds of employees as its patient-load and insurance reimbursement rates have declined and the federal sequestration bill has taken effect.

Ministry operates Saint Clare's Hospital in Weston, Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Saint Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point and Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill, among other locations. It made the layoff announcement in a statement issued Tuesday afternoon.
