Maifest welcomes summer to Jacksonport for 41st time

Since 1973, the town of Jacksonport has hosted Door County's unofficial summer kickoff festival over Memorial Day weekend with Maifest, and the community prepares for its 41st annual celebration to take place May 25-26.

Most events take place at Lakeside Park, on the Lake Michigan shoreline at County V and Wisconsin 57. The festival features a juried art fair with more than 100 artists, opening at 9 a.m. both days, and a Maifest Midway with inflatable games for children of all ages from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 to 3 Sunday.
