Gas prices have skyrocketed across the Midwest but local travelers may see relief at the pump heading into Memorial Day.

A gallon of regular gasoline Wednesday in the Green Bay area averaged $3.87, which is 29 cents more than a month ago and 12 cents more than a year ago, according to the American Automotive Association's online daily fuel gauge report.

However, the wholesale price of gasoline has recently decreased, and motorists here may soon see those savings when they fill up for the holiday travel period that runs from today through Monday, said AAA spokeswoman Pam Moen. ...
