River dredging bid, new custodian OK'd by council

Bids to dredge the Oconto River were approved by the City Council on May 14.

The first phase will improve the channel from the mouth of the river to Hi Seas marina, perhaps as far back as the Oconto Yacht Club. The $284,519 cost was included in the bonds the city issued last year.

The second phase would be over the same section of river, but would increase the width of the dredged area from 50 to 60 feet, and go two feet deeper, according to Public Works Superintendent Jeremy Wusterbarth. ...
