May 24, 1949 - Eighth graders visitors here: Both Washington and Franklin Junior High schools will be hosts to visiting eighth graders from rural and state graded schools of Brown County, Wednesday afternoon, it was announced today. Most of the visitors will attend either Franklin or Washington as ninth graders next fall.

Purpose of the programs is to acquaint the incoming pupils with the teachers and buildings, and to help them make out their study programs. A slight increase in enrollment by rural boys and girls is expected because of the new state law requiring that students attend school until they are at least 16 years old.
