Bryton Guckenberg grew up in Trego, Mt. and is the only out-of-state player on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point roster.

But the freshman outfielder might be the Pointers' most popular player today after hitting Bryce Murphy's pitch halfway to Montana.

Guckenberg delivered the biggest hit of his life Friday night, slamming a dramatic walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to complete a stunning late-inning comeback in the Pointers' improbable 6-5 win over Manchester in a first-round thriller at the NCAA Division III National Baseball Championship. ...
