'Donkey Kong' swings onto Nintendo 3DS

One of Nintendo's finest console games in recent memory is now available for portable play. Despite adding 3-D visuals and a few tweaks here and there, 'Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D' for Nintendo 3DS is essentially the same game as its 2010 predecessor for the Nintendo Wii ? and that's just fine.

But be aware the cartridge or digital download costs $34.99 -- which I think is far too steep for a portable game these days. Even still, this side-scrolling platformer is a winner. ...
