UW Colleges chancellor says system 'didn't do anything wrong' in regard to budget surplus

The University of Wisconsin System wasn't trying to hide its budget surplus, but it needs to implement a more effective reporting format, Ray Cross, chancellor of the UW Colleges and UW-Extension, said during a recent visit to Manitowoc. Cross was here to give a presentation to the Manitowoc Noon Rotary Club, and he also shared his thoughts during a stop at the HTR Media office.

"The university didn't conceal anything," Cross said. "It was reported as we were instructed to report to the Fiscal Bureau. We didn't do anything wrong. Nobody has misappropriated funds or stolen money or anything."
