TOWN OF CLEVELAND - One person is in serious condition after a semi and pickup collided this morning on Highway 97 just north of Stratford, authorities say.

The Marathon County Sheriff's Department received a call just after 10:30 a.m. of a serious crash on Highway 97 near Big Rapids Road in the town of Cleveland, Sheriff's Lt. Dale Wisnewski said.

The driver of the pickup was airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield with unspecified injuries, Wisnewski said. The driver of the semi refused transportation to the hospital.

The crash reconstruction team from the Wausau Police Department is on scene. Highway 97 is closed to traffic, which is being detoured around the accident, Wisnewski said.

No other information was immediately available.
