The Stratford High School Class of 2013 was honored during commencement exercises beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18.

Music was provided by the high school band, and a musical selection was sung by the senior choral students.

The welcome was given by McKenzie Hofmann and Austin Hoffman. The class message was presented by Toshia Spindler, Andrea Wenzel, Grayson Cole and Alanna Ehrike.

Presentation of awards was led by Scott Winch, superintendent, and Janeen LaBorde, principal. Diplomas were presented by Scott Winch, superintendent, and Board of Education president. Movement of tassels was led by Megan Wussow and Jaime Garrigan.

The class flower is the white wildflower and the class motto is "Each of us has different talents, different dreams, and different destinations, yet we all have the power to make a new tomorrow." - Author unknown

Class officers are McKenzie Hofmann, president; Austin Hoffman, vice president; Megan Wussow, secretary; and Jaime Garrigan, treasurer. Class advisers are Kathy Ballerstein, Bill Coker, Dave Gouin, Mark Guderski and Becky Wirkus.

Valedictorians are:

Nolan Bargender, son of Troy and Kathy Bargender, plans to attend University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in pharmacy.

Grayson Cole, son of Barry and Amy Cole, will attend the University of Minnesota, studying neurology.

Alanna Ehrike, daughter of David and Pamela Ehrike, will attend UW-Stevens Point, majoring in elementary education.

McKenzie Hofmann, daughter of Roger and Kim Hofmann, plans to attend UW-La Crosse, where she will major in biology/medical.

Toshia Spindler, daughter of Dennis and Carla Spindler, will attend UW-La Crosse, studying biology/medical.

Andrea Wenzel, daughter of Thomas and Margaret Wenzel, will continue her studies at UW-Platteville, majoring in animal science/veterinary science.

Salutatorian is Erin Specht, daughter of James and Sandra Specht . She will attend UW-La Crosse, majoring in biology/medical.
