The village of Weston on May 20 jumped into the countywide debate over animal control when it voted to request additional licensing fees from the county and require all county veterinarians to submit vaccination records.

The board's vote could affect funds planned to pay for a regional humane officer and the financially struggling Humane Society's ability to care for and house stray animals.
