D.C. Everest School District's top elementary-school readers are getting trips of a lifetime this week as the Weston Fire Department is giving them rides to school in firetrucks.

The top readers in Weston Elementary School's kindergarten through fifth grades, determined by reading logs that students compiled for their teachers, started Tuesday with a tour of the fire house, breakfast with firefighters and then the lift to school.
