After school clubs get grants for food classes
Lincoln County 4-H is among the after-school programs in 11 counties that will receive money from the JC Penney Round Up for Afterschool program.
It will use its grant to address nutrition and food security with after-school education that focuses on community gardening at five 4-H After School Clubs. Those clubs are at Jefferson Elementary School, Kate Goodrich Elementary School, Prairie River Middle School "After the Bell," KinsKlub in Tomahawk and Washington Elementary School.
Becky Kludy, Lincoln County 4-H After School Club coordinator, will provide projects on container gardening, nutrition, health, first aid, sewing and woodworking during club meetings through summer and next school year.
