Pentecost SundayMosinee United Methodist celebrated Pentecost Sunday with a 10:30 a.m. worship service and church picnic May 19 at Big Eau Pleine County Park. Members of the church wore red, symbolizing the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and the birth of the Christian church. The children enjoyed the chance to play in the grass and at the playground, while older members enjoyed the sunshine and cool lake breeze. A Mosinee Baccalaureate Service honoring graduating seniors will be held at 7 p.m. May 28 at the Creske Center. This is a Christian worship service open to all members of the community regardless of faith or church affiliation. The Good News youth band will provide music, and Jeff Tarras, head of North Central Wisconsin Fellowship of Christian Athletes will provide the message. Pastors from many local churches will also participate in the service.
A reception with light refreshments will follow the service. All participating seniors will be entered into a drawing for Mosinee Baccalaureate Awards, $200 cash gifts to help them start their new lives.
Seniors who wish to participate should contact their pastor by May 26, or contact the Mosinee UMC office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 715-693-2125 by May 27. Seniors may also register the evening of the event in the Creske Center lobby 6:15-6:45pm, but their names will not be printed in the program. All participating seniors will line up to process into the Creske Center at 6:45pm.

? The Mosinee shopping shuttle runs June 7 to stores in the Rib Mountain area. The trip costs $5 and is open to anyone who wants to ride, regardless of age or need. Pick ups are 9:10 a.m. Willow Haven (804 12th St), 9:20 a.m. Maplewood Apartments (508 Sixth St.), and 9:30 a.m. Acorn Hill (430 Orbiting Dr). The bus returns to Mosinee by 1 p.m. Please call 715-693-2125 by June 6 at noon to reserve your seat in advance. The shuttle is co-sponsored by Mosinee Methodist, Cornerstone Apostolic, Our Savior National Catholic, St. James Episcopal, St. John Lutheran, and St. Paul Catholic churches, Burnett Transit, Mosinee Masons, and the Mosinee Area Action Club.
? Mosinee Methodist Church offers two options for Wednesday worship. A brief morning prayer service with free coffee is held at 7 a.m. The evening worship at 6:30 p.m. is a casual service with singing, prayer, scripture, discussion, and a brief message. All services are free and open to the public. Mosinee UMC is at 607 13th St.
? Mosinee Boy Scout Troop 257 will host a brat fry 10 a.m.-to 4 p.m. May 25, at Piggly Wiggly. Brats, hot dogs, chips, and drinks are available for a donation.
