Batons are normally passed at track meets, but Thursday afternoon at Little Chute the torch was passed in Sturgeon Bay's impressive string of hurdles successes in Division 2 sectional competition.

The Clippers' Hannah Abrahamson won the 300-meter hurdles, making it nine times in the past 10 years that Sturgeon Bay has qualified a girls runner in the event for the state meet. In 2004, Sierra Spaude began her string of four straight state trips in the event and after a one-year break Amelia Campbell competed at La Crosse from 2009 until last year.
