Two teams from Woodworth Middle School participated in the 2013 "Rockets for Schools Launch" on May 3 and 4.

On May 3, students attended a talk by Dr. Aileen Yigst, entitled the "Mars Hand Lens Imager on Mars Rover Curiosity," and presented their rocket, display and payload to the judges.

On May 4, students successfully launched their rockets and helped run the launch. Forty three teams participated, with three states being represented. Team Stargazers' rocket carried a payload containing a balloon and a video camera. Team #Eggxecutioners' rocket carried a payload containing a guillotine that used g-force to cut an egg in half on lift off.
