Variety of summer events to take place in downtown...: More than 130 event-days are planned throughout downtown Green Bay this summer, from farmers markets to CityDeck gatherings to concerts in the parks. Events will be held on Broadway, in central downtown and on Main Street.

Downtown Green Bay's summer events calendar is economic development disguised as a three-month-long party.

Downtown Green Bay Inc. and other organizations scheduled more than 130 events between June and October designed to draw people to the CityDeck, Broadway and Main Street districts. Mayor Jim Schmitt said when the schedule was announced Tuesday that a half-million people are expected to visit downtown this summer.
