? A Weston-based manufacturing company announced it will add 250 to 350 jobs in the next three years at a newly purchased facility in Mosinee. The company, which has been operating since 1993, bought the former Weather Shield Manufacturing facility, which sits near the Central Wisconsin Airport, according to a news release from the business owner. Crystal Finishing Systems currently employs 540 workers, and the average pay of a full-time staffer in 2012 was $38,700.

? Ministry Health Care plans to eliminate between 225 and 250 employees, the firm announced. Ministry operates Saint Clare's Hospital in Weston, Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Saint Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point and Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill, among other locations. The reductions would be achieved through a combination of attrition and layoffs, a spokesman said. Ministry currently employs more than 12,000 people.

? Marathon County lost 300 jobs between March and April and 800 jobs between April 2012 and this year, according to local unemployment statistics released Wednesday. The number of Marathon County jobs dropped from 66,200 in March to 65,900 in April, down from 66,700 jobs in April 2012, as unemployment rates remained essentially stagnant in central Wisconsin, according to state Department of Workforce Development statistics.

? The city of Wausau's unemployment rate improved slightly from 10.2 percent in March to 9.8 percent in April, according to the DWD data. The city still has the fourth-worst rate among the 32 Wisconsin cities with populations of 25,000 or more. Only Racine, Beloit and Milwaukee had higher unemployment.
