Mosquito Hill Nature Center in New London is offering summer ecology classes for children.
» Neenah Summer Fun Runs begin for Fox Valley runners ages 14 and under. Runs start near the Memorial Park Appleblossom Street shelter at 7 p.m. Ribbons to all runners and snacks are sponsor donated. Registration is now open for Summer Ecology classes for children at Mosquito Hill Nature Center. Six four-day sessions have been designed to delight and educate students in nature's outdoor classroom. Through explorations, crafts, games and interpretive nature walks, children gain knowledge and appreciation of the natural world and a greater sense of self-confidence.
Two classes especially for 4- and 5-year-olds are scheduled in June. Snakes and Turtles and Frogs and Toads will be held June 18-21 and Creatures Small & Furry is scheduled June 25-28. Both classes run from 10 a.m. to noon. The cost is $50 per child or $45 for members of Friends of Mosquito Hill.
Children in kindergarten, first and second grades will enjoy Make It Wild, scheduled July 9-12 and Critter Capers from July 16-19. NSI: Nature Scene Investigation from July 23-26 and Amazing Animal Antics from July 30-Aug. 2 are planned for third-, fourth- and fifth-graders. These four classes run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $60 per child or $55 for FOMH members.
