Letters to the Editor policy

Submissions must include your name, address and phone number for verification. Letters must not exceed 300 words. The Reporter reserves the right to edit all submissions for length.

Occasionally, letters longer than 300 words, but less than 600 words, will be selected as Guest Commentaries. They are chosen based on relevance, timeliness, interest and good writing.

Writers are allowed one published item per month.

Letters printed in, or mass-mailed to, other publications are not published.

The Reporter prints letters thanking people or a business for a kind act or thanking the public and businesses (in general). Writers may thank up to three specific sponsors of an event. The Reporter encourages writers to make general references (for example, "Downtown Fond du Lac businesses" or "all those who volunteered").

Send your letters to us by:

Mail: The Reporter Letters, P.O. Box 1955, Fond du Lac, WI 54936-1955.

E-mail: Place "Letters" in the subject field and e-mail to ashowers@fdlreporter.com.

Fax to: (920) 922-3552.
