In a new sign of trouble for East Town Mall, the struggling Green Bay shopping center has lost a bid to trim more than $5 million from its property value for tax purposes.

The action means that East Town Mall will continue paying about $275,000 a year in property taxes at a time when its business continues showing signs of a downward spiral.

An agent for East Town Mall told the tax appeal board that the 31-year-old shopping center has reached the end of its "useful life" as an enclosed mall. ...
