The Brown County United Way is continuing to refine and redefine itself by following up on a brainstorming session it launched last month.

The organization invited about 100 service providers and local government officials to its Strategic Planning Summit last week at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. The purpose: set the course for the organization through 2015.

The event followed up on a session it held in early April, when about 200 agency directors and others brainstormed on identified "unmet needs" in the county. Those needs were identified based on some of the 6,600 annual ...
