Cool Memorial Day weekend doesn't deter gardeners

In keeping with what has been a less-than-wonderful spring weatherwise, the unofficial first weekend of summer got off to a cool start, but gardeners were still out in force, buying plants and getting them in the ground.

"I never do anything before Memorial Day anyway," said Sarah Dery of Green Bay, who was shopping Monday at Green Bay Nursery and Landscape on Military Avenue. "I'm from Rhinelander originally, and you don't do stuff too soon."
