Compassion in Action prepares trip to aid tornado victims

When a natural disaster strikes, Marshfield's Compassion in Action is never far behind, providing aid to victims. The nonprofit organization is completing a three-day fundraiser today, dedicated to helping the victims of the May 20 tornado in Moore, Okla.

Since erecting the Compassion in Action tent near the entrance to the Shopko parking lot Saturday morning, donations of cash, bottled water and canned food were steady, with many people thanking volunteers for their work, said Debbi Craft, who along with her husband, Jim, organized and staffed the fundraiser during the holiday ...
