Oshkosh officials said available money spurred them to set aside $3.3 million for a proposed bicycle and pedestrian trail near Ford Festival Park on the west side.

City Manager Mark Rohloff said the trail from State Highway 44 to State Highway 26 went from a long-term recommendation to a short-term priority because of an unusual opportunity to use funds from a special tax district to finance the project.
