Two weeks ago, Sandy Cohen was competing in the Bay Conference junior varsity meet.

The Seymour junior won the WIAA Division 2 triple jump state title on Friday with a school-record leap of 45 feet, 6 inches.

"I felt awkward at a JV meet because last year I made it to state," said Cohen, who missed most of the outdoor season while playing with his AAU basketball team this spring. ...
