Gerdmann, Kordon, Peot also medal

Sturgeon Bay's Jasmine Noel placed second and Southern Door's Katyln Gerdmann finished fourth Saturday in the Division 2 discus at the WIAA state high school track and field meet in La Crosse.

Two Gibraltar athletes also medaled on the final day of the meet, with Sam Kordon placing fourth in the Division 3 800-meter run, and Andrew Peot placing fifth in the 100 and 200 dashes.

Noel was in fifth place until her final attempt, when she had a throw of 122 feet, 9 inches to grab the runner-up spot. Sheboygan Falls senior Genevieve Gates won the state title at 126-8. ...
