Todaythe Stevens Point Plan Commission will take up the issue of filling the former K Bueno restaurant in downtown Stevens Point.
The commission will vote on a request from Tom Deppiesse, representing Estate Wines, for a conditional use permit to operate a wine bar, serving wine, beer and liquor at 1137 Main St.
According to a Facebook page for the business, Estate Wines was founded in 1994 and had previously been located at 2582 Post Road in Plover. However, because of an expansion project to widen the road, the business needed a new location.
K Bueno had originally opened in June of 2008 by Karl Halsey. The restaurant closed in late 2012, but now has a catering and hot sauce business online at www.kbuenohotsauce.com.
